I picked up my new R4P XSE a month ago, and paid for 5yr /100,000 km added coverage from the dealer. I'm loving the car, but there's a lot to learn. There's figuring out all the settings, and getting the car set up for towing our 13 foot trailer. There's winter tires and a roof rack for the kayaks. Keeping track in my mind of what's covered (and not covered) under warranty and for how long is a whole other task that is some complicated. I guess I'll just have to focus and make a spreadsheet. Thanks for this video.
With hybrid systems and all that I got the extended warranty. An important thing to remember is that the warranty is negotiable. They wanted $3500 for it and I talked them down to $2k
I tend to avoid buying extended warranties but decided to buy one for our Rav4 Prime based on similar reasoning to yours. I paid $1100 for an 8 year/100k miles warranty. Given that my Toyota dealer just attempted to charge me $750 for my 35k mile service (after trying to add a bunch of BS procedures not listed in the factory maintenance guide) I think it's cheap insurance against getting hosed down the line if/when something goes wrong.
I bought a Honda Accord years ago and also the extended warranty. Who would buy an extended warranty with a Honda? I felt buyers remorse on buying the warranty but low and behold after the factory warranty had expired the computer system went down, the warranty saved me thousands.
I had similar reasoning in buying a 10 yr 125,000 for a Grand Highlander Hybrid. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to buy a warranty after market. That probably would have been a much smarter way to go. Was reassuring to see I wasn’t the only one out there considering all of these new parts and new technology. The Grand Highlander Hybrid is brand new and most manufacturers rarely get it 100% right on the first try. At minimum I get some piece of mind.
The Toyota warranty is the best, it can be used at any dealer nationwide. Say your on a trip, pop in and use the warranty if needed and trip interruption is a bonus. Look at it as an extra $10 a mth. That's two trips to Starbucks easy.

I agree. Especially with an automobile as complicated as the RAV4 Prime. But honestly, the prime has been rock solid. Best car i've owned.
That's $120 a year. Are you saying that Toyota extended warranty costs only $360 for warranty up to 5 years, because that is completely dishonest.
nice information
Thanks bud.
